Meetings

  • The Future of Airports - A Vision of 2040 and 2070 (global analysis) is the 1st research initiative of the Airport Think Tank. The Future of Airports aims to bring a value added to the discussions on the long-term future of our industry. The goals are to document the +20-year and +50-year horizons, to discuss the challenges that we will face then, to draft options and a response to these challenges, and identify the needs in research, national and regional policies, and training/education as well. The recommendations and findings of this task force have been published on the website of ENAC Alumni, and in professional articles as well.
  • The Future of Airports - A Vision of 2040 and 2070 (focus groups) is the follow-up of the global analysis. Building on the findings of the latter, national and regional focus groups driven by the local chapters of ENAC Alumni across the world are exploring the future of the airport industry in their area. They are also discussing how the global findings can apply locally
  • The COVID-19 Task Force was created in May 2020 to assess the current impacts on our industry, share best practices to protect our passengers and workers at the short-term horizon, and discuss about the best ways to facilitate the recovery, provide an optimal level of safety facing future pandemics, and how to rebuild trust with our passengers. The Task Force released a synthesis in June 2020. This document is being updated.
  • The Task Force on Managing Uncertainty in Airport Operations met between 2020 and 2022 to develop a technical guidance on how to enhance airport resilience toward adverse conditions. The report Managing Disruptions in Airport Operations:  Lessons Learned for Enhancing Real-Time Response & Operational Resilience was released in February 2023.
  • The Task Force on Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) for Regional and Smaller Airports met for the first time in April 2021. This group is developing a white paper on the benefits of A-CDM for aerodromes, and on how to adapt A-CDM practices to their specificities.
  • Our next task forces will tackle New and Emerging Energy Vectors, The Rise of Air Travel in Africa, and Enhancing Best Practices in Airfield Construction.
