On May 21st, some of the Chapter Canada participants had the opportunity to visit the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Headquarters in Montreal.  ICAO is a United Nations agency which helps 193 countries to cooperate together and share their skies to their mutual benefit.

Kindly supported by local ENAC Alumni, this personalized tour started with the ICAO museum showcasing the history and achievements of international civil aviation. Visitors could explore different time periods related to ICAO's milestones, including significant legal documents and influential public figures.

The guided tour continued with the iconic ICAO's diplomatic chambers: the impressive Assembly Hall, the Council (governing body composed of 36 States responsible for Secretariat oversight, and for the ongoing diplomatic and technical decision making through ICAO while the Assembly is not in session), and the Air Navigation Commission (composed of 19 members, it considers and recommends Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and Procedures for Air Navigation Services (PANS) for adoption or approval by the ICAO Council).

Many thanks again to our amazing guides, Damien MARCE (IENAC 91), Clément AUDARD (MS NAV 03) and Erick FERRANDEZ (IENAC 88) who made this behind-the-scenes visit very special, including for our guests Ludovic VIDOT (IENAC 13) and Guillaume VOISIN (IENAC 01) on a business trip in Montreal.

The afterwork ended on a festive note around a friendly dinner in which we shared experiences and stories in great company!

PS: If you wish to learn all about ICAO, register to the upcoming ENAC Alumni webinar on 12 June at 6:30 CET in which Jean-Francois GROUT (IENAC 80) and ex-Assistant Director ICAO Relations at IATA, will present!
