Simon DRESCHEL (DNM IATOM 2009)

Appointment - Chairman of the Management Board of Bordeaux Airport

Simon Dreschel will take up his post on August 10, 2021, replacingThierry Couloumiès, acting Chairman since January 14, 2021. Illness has left Pascal Personne, who managed BordeauxBordeaux-Mérignac airport for 17 years, to prepare his succession.

The future Chairman of the Board of the airport company is currently working for Edeis, where he joined in 2013.He has held various management positions. He iscurrently Managing Director of Concessions, in charge of 18 French local airports.

Simon Dreschel is a graduate of ENAC (DNM IATOM 2009).
He first worked as an engineer for Air France, before becoming a consultant in aeronautical strategy.
This is obviously a new challenge of a different dimension forhim .

Despite the economic difficulties it faces, Bordeaux airport enjoys a favorable environment .Supported by the local authorities, which hold a 40% stake in the airportcompany theairport company, it can take advantage of the economic dynamism of the Bordeaux conurbation. Its market structure ,balanced between traditional and low-cost traffic and connections to major European hubs, is an asset. It is the legacy of
Pascal Personne, who achieved spectacular ,intelligent traffic growth by relying on several complementarydrivers .

This situation enabled Bordeaux-Mérignac to cope with thearrival of the TGV Ouest. It should help it bounce back after the pandemic. It will also be essential in mitigating the shutdown ofthe Paris route imposed by the future Climate Law .In the coming months , there will be no shortage of challenges for the future Chairman of the Board.

Following Franck Goldnadel's appointment as Chairman of the Board of the Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur group in September 2020, Simon
Dreschel is the second executive to leave Edeis to take the helm of a major regional airport.
